The club captain for next season has been revealed
Author: Philip Meldrum Date: Monday, 1st Jul 2002Jimmy Calderwood has at last revealed who will skipper the team for next season.
Bullen, Nicholson, Crawford and new signing Craig Brewster were all contending to win the captain's armband. However, not surprisingly 30 year-old utility player Scott Thomson was eventually chosen by Jimmy Calderwood to captain the team.
The ex Raith and Aberdeen player was consitently magnifcent last season, and many Pars fans believe he should be in Berti Vogt's Scotland team. Scott captained the team on several occasions last year due to Ferguson's inability to be free from injury and suspension. Calderwood's next major decision will be deciding where to play Thomson next season, because the arrival of Scott Walker could mean that "Nipper" may be pushed forward, either to midfield, or even up front.
DAFC.NET would like to wish Scott all the best during his first season as club captain.
