Shire Manager's Comments
Date: Wednesday, 23rd Aug 2000"I just asked my team to do their best tonight and I thought they did. There was not much more that they could have done except score a goal. I thought we frustrated Dunfermline and maybe deserved to get to extra time. I thought our guys stuck well to our game plan.
George Fairley, East Stirling manager said
"We had a couple of chances, not a lot but we weren't expecting a lot. I'm not saying that getting to extra time would have done us much good, it would have been great if it had gone straight to penalties but the players did themselves and the club really proud. There are 13 new guys at this club this year and they are knitting in fine. I wish Dunfermline all the best in the next round."
