Post Match Interviews

Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Monday, 27th Dec 2004

Highlights from interviews given by Davie Hay, Barry Nicholson and Gary Mason after the Livingston game.

Davie Hay
Davie feels that the game was altogether poor and was not helped by the wet, cold and slippery conditions faced by both teams. In response to the chants calling for his resignation he plays it off and explains that paying customers can shout what they like, it doesn’t help the team’s cause but does little to dampen an already thoroughly damp mood. Hay calls for more conviction from his players and hopes that new faces can be brought in to bolster the team’s chances of success this season.

Barry Nicholson
Barry acknowledges that the game wasn’t pleasing on the eye but puts that down to the fact that both teams are scrapping for points at the bottom of the table. He also gives his support to Davie Hay amid the fans taunts and knows that the players have a job to do to rectify the current problem. Barry tells us that the surface is continuing to get worse and goes as far to say that the fans will see little good games until it is replaced. He has the highest regard for Aaron Labontes performance saying he was ‘outstanding’…and so say all of us!

Gary Mason
Gary explains how difficult it was to play on the slippery surface but doesn’t want to use that as an excuse for the team’s poor display. He gives praise to the young players who have filled in for injured players but realises that an injury list as long as the Pars have had recently does nothing to help their situation.
