Post Match Interviews

Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Friday, 24th Sep 2004

Highlights from interviews given by Derek Whyte, Davie Hay and Thomas Butler after the CSI Cup game.

Derek Whyte
Derek is a disappointed man after dropping out of the CIS cup but is optimistic about his teams chances of improvement. He is unhappy at the referee for an alleged foul on Partick’s, Juan Ramone before Thompson’s goal that “killed the game”. He expresses his disgust at the artificial surface but concedes that managers of provincial clubs will have no say in the removal of it.

Davie Hay
Hay is obviously pleased with the win and admits it was a hard game against first division Partick. He is happy to have scored 3 goals in one game having had so little in other games and praises Hunt and Thompson’s strikes. Davie was also very pleased with Thomas Butler’s game with the Irishman getting his first proper run out.

Thomas Butler
Despite a grilling Thomas manages to give no details away about his controversial move from Sunderland. He is looking forward to getting back to football and leaving the legal problems behind him. Butler, who gained two full Rep. of Ireland caps, tells us that Hunt and Dempsey have helped him settle in since arriving. He is very eager to show his potential and gain a first team place at East End Park and also to get into Saturdays match against Celtic.
