Date: Wednesday, 11th Jul 2018James Vincent turned down a number of offers to re-sign for the Pars this summer and the midfielder is delighted to be back in a Dunfermline shirt. The 28-year old made 12 appearances for the Pars during the 2017-18 season after finding his opportunities restricted at his parent club. He began his stint at Dunfermline on the bench but started ten league matches for the club between February and April and only finished on the losing side on one occasion.
Allan Johnston`s team ended the season in spectacular fashion winning six of their last nine games which helped them reach the play-offs but their hopes of promotion were dashed by Dundee United.
Vincent and his teammates held their own against the Tangerines during the first leg but they just fell short in the rematch and they`ll be aiming to battle their way out of the second tier once again this season.
The Englishman was playing in the Scottish Championship for the first time in his career and appears delighted to be back at the club. He admitted his frustration at being given
the cold shoulder by Neil McCann but he is determined to make up for lost time.
Life Without Flood
Vincent`s arrival comes off the back of Willo Flood`s unexpected departure. The Irish midfielder left the club for Bali United despite signing a one-year deal at East End Park just nine days earlier. However, Flood`s deal has since been cancelled by the Indonesian club owing to problems gaining a work permit for the 33-year old.

Despite their heroics during the latter half of the season, Dunfermline could face a tough campaign in the Scottish Championship with the division looking increasingly competitive. The Pars begin as fifth favourites and are priced at 20/1 to secure the title. Last season`s play-off conquerors Dundee United start as favourites.
They have been drawn alongside Vincent`s employers Dundee in the Betfred Cup and the pair will face one another on July 22nd, a game which will be played in front of the BT Sport cameras. The competition has had a major revamp this year and its early start has not gone down well with a number of managers. Defending Champions Celtic have been installed as the 7/4 favourites to retain their crown this season and the competition sponsors are amongst a number of online bookmakers who provide numerous free bets and betting offers which can be used to bet on a number of outright markets ahead of the new season.
Other New Arrivals
Vincent`s arrival was welcomed by fans due to his association with last season`s unbeaten run. He will be joined by a number of new recruits who will also be looking to help the Pars challenge for promotion once again.
Tom Beadling returns to the club on a permanent deal. He played 11 times on loan from Sunderland last season and netted once. Joe Thomson arrives from Celtic and is joined by brothers, Jackson and Louis Longridge, with Mark Durnan also joining the club from Dundee United. Aidan Connolly makes up the sextet having previously plied his trade with York City.
Dunfermline will look to quietly go about their business in the second tier and Vincent`s arrival will give them plenty of experience and know-how in the centre of the park. They may only be fifth favourites in the outright market but the Pars will relish their status as underdogs and they will hope to be heavily involved at the business end of the Scottish Championship once again.
