Dunfermline Athletic

FIVE CUP FINALS BRING YOUR BOOTS! - AND BE THE 12TH MAN

Date: Wednesday, 20th Apr 2005

All of the major supporters groups are collectively urging EVERY Pars fan to be the 12th man in the remaining 5 games to ensure survival in the Premier League.

`Everybody who has ever had an affinity with Dunfermline Athletic should get down to East End Park for the remaining two home games and shout and roar us to victory`, says Marvyn Steaua, Chairperson of Dunfermline Athletic Supporters Club. `Don`t think someone else will do it for you, GET TO THE GAMES and do it yourself. Play a part in keeping us in the Premier League, and know in your heart that YOU made a difference.

Marvyn continues `I want everyone of our marvelous supporters to encourage friends and family who might not go anymore - to make an exception for the next 2 home games. Forget the doom and gloom merchants who think we`re
out of it . We really can fill East End Park with a sea of black and white, balloons, flags, shirts and scarves. Every one of us can sing our hearts out for the entire 90 minutes, be positive, and hopefully that can make
a real difference to our fortunes`. We are organising for youth groups and schools to come along on Saturday (v Caley Thistle) to East End Park to help shout the players on. We need as many fans as possible , into EEP so if you know of any groups wanting free tickets, please telephone Marvyn on 01383 881696 or e-mail on msteaua@aol.com. For Schools telephone Ruth on 01383 738957.

All of the fans organisations are supporting this call, in an unprecedented unified voice.

Pars Trust Chair Margaret Ross adds `I echo the words and sentiments of Marvyn, the players need you to get behind them for these final five games to ensure we stay up. Lets give them the confidence by cheering every pass, every shot, every tackle and every save that is made. Together the fans can make the difference and help the team and club to stay up where we belong. Ask yourself - have you encouraged a friend to come and watch the Pars this year? Well NOW is the time to do it.

We haven`t given up yet - ask the players and manager. And this is no time for the fans to give up either. There are just 450 minutes of football left that can keep us in the top flight. If we play all those 450 minutes with an extra man provided by the fans off the pitch - we really can
make a difference and ensure we stay up.``

Also backing this rallying cry are the Centenary Club, Spokesperson Jason Barber welcomes the initiative - ` we were asked to join in we wholeheartedly gave our support after all the one thing we have always wanted is success for Dunfermline and this season that means staying in
the top division in Scotland. We would urge everyone else to do the same and hopefully cheer us on to ensure we achieve the goal of staying were we belong.`

Brian Duncan - of the independent fans website DAFC.net says `I would urge ALL fans to join in with this initiative and get behind the team to ensure we stay up, we need everyone in Dunfermline to become our twelve man.`

`We CAN really make a difference - this means getting right behind the players and if a player makes a mistake not getting on his back, if a pass is misplaced don`t groan or moan but urge him to go and win the ball back.`

`It means creating an atmosphere that only us Pars Fans CAN create - no matter what the score, just remember Hampden last year. If we go a goal behind then it means we have to support the team even MORE.

This is OUR chance to help - NO EXCUSES - NO EXCEPTIONS - JUST PURE ABSOLUTE AND TOTAL SUPPORT.
