 Final fixtures of regular season

I just had a look at the last games of the season coming up Friday and Saturday.

A meaningful 90 minutes in the Championship this Friday for Queens Park and ICT respectively playing other opponents and trying to avoid the relegation payoff spot.

Then there`s a straightforward must win to avoid relegation playoff spot for Stirling Albion (9th) on Saturday at the bottom of league 1 where they host Annan (8th) both on same points but the visitors have the better goal difference.

Also a big match in the League 2 promotion playoffs - where second Peterhead meet third Dumbarton, again both on same points but the home side have the GD advantage in that one.

Also in League Two, bottom of the table Stranraer have to beat champions Stenhousemuir AND hope Clyde lose at Elgin. Otherwise Stranraer are Club 42* and play East Kilbride.

*If Clyde draw, Stranraer will survive on GD if they win by 3 or more goals.

Well spotted Stanza, this slipped under the radar.

It would be sad to see Stranraer slip out the SPFL, good club

I 100% agree with you, red-star-par.

Of course, we can all see the merit of the pyramid system, but it`s still sad to see traditional clubs like Brechin and Berwick disappear from the scene.

Stranraer would be a significant loss, too, for they are the only senior team in Galloway. Regardless of your route, it is always a nice drive down there. Stair Park is a tidy ground set in a very pleasant area. It has a good feel to it.

The fans of these small regional clubs tend to be welcoming and friendly, so whether you win, draw, or lose, the experience is usually enjoyable.

Just hope whoever finishes as club 42 beat chicken man and the pretendy club who play at a glorified sports centre.
