Greenock Morton Post Match Interviews

Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Sunday, 15th Aug 2010

Highlights from interviews given by Jim McIntyre, Andy Kirk and Willie Gibson after the game against Greenock Morton at East End Park.

Jim McIntyre
The manager is delighted but clearly relieved at the final result having seen his side stuggle for large periods in the match. He was pleased with the way the defence stayed solid under pressure putting them on the right track to nick three points. Losing Nick Phinn through injury did give Jim problems due to his attacking minded bench but the team battled hard and was able to come through.

Andy Kirk
Andy admits that the team didnt play particularly well but that the result is a good one in the end. Having scored two goal the striker is well on the way to reaching his season goals target but will not divulge what that target is. There is a realisation that teams visiting East End Park will tend to sit back and stop the home side playing but Andy conceeds that Morton had a go and were probably the best side overall. Being one of the older more experienced players in the team is fine with Kirk as he sees there being a great mix of experience and youth in the Dunfermline set-up and each set of players helps the other.

Willie Gibson
Willie explains the situation regarding his failed move to Crawley Town.
