www.dafc.net is moving, your site needs you!

Author: Jason Barber and Brian Duncan Date: Friday, 3rd May 2002

The new and improved dafc.net will still be first to bring you news and views about the Pars. The same features such as the message board, will still be there of course. Why are we now here ?
Our existing site on Rivals.net.

But we want to hear your views about how to make the site better, slicker or even bigger!

This is a fantastic opportunity for the fans site to further establish itself as the number one visited DAFC site on the internet.

Many new ideas have been mentioned and they are being given consideration.

WHY are we moving ? DAFC.net joined 'RIVALS.net' a European network in April 2000 to help promote the site and provide a wider coverage. Rivals provided the web hosting, the database templates, pictures and advertsiing revenue. Recently Rivals combined with football365 and have decided to drop completely their Scottish Network and we have 3 weeks to move to a new network or develop a new site (now 2 weeks). The existing site will be up for a few months, but as we hold the site DAFC.net we will move that to our new server within the next week - target for site move is 13th May.

DAFC.net will continue as we have a good team of people who follow the Pars - through thick and thin. We are developing new templates and a new message forum and we will have all the old stories on the new site. However, you will have to bear with us while we make the transition. Please provide comments to us on the message board.

This was one of the questions we asked : Would you be prepared to pay a one off registration fee of just £5 a year? This would provide you with your own mail address as well as funding top prizes for the regular competitions that are planned. BUT we don't expect to charge as it would involve us with too much additional work.

There will be NO pop up adverts on the new site, much to most people's pleasure! This did provide funding for the old rivals site however, so a one off payment would help cover these costs.

Let us know what YOU think on the message board.

Thanks for all you comments to date, they have been most useful!

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON THE SITE TEMPLATE. FEEL FREE TO USE THE MESSAGEBOARD - BUT PLEASE USE THE RIVALS BOARD IN THE MEANTIME.
